'A Friend in Space and Time', was written for my friend Mathias, in reflection of what he is going through with his medical issue.. focusing in on a desire to understand in a deeper way what it's like for a friend who is thousands of miles away on a different continent, while living life day-by-day with the news of what the doctors are telling him about his health and life expectancy. One can get a general idea and feel emotions that comes with it, but would never know what they are going through the way they know it.
Track B, 'First Impressions', was a song that was written about first impressions of social interactions in general and the afterthoughts that can happen.
Though 'First Impressions' contrasts with 'A Friend in Space and Time' in that it wasn't written about a specific person in mind, its theme and sound goes nicely enough to tag onto the release as a "B-side"
